Who can buy a gun online?

First, we need to advise that federal law states you must be 21 to purchase a handgun and 18 to purchase a rifle or a shotgun.

Also, guns cannot be sent directly to the purchaser.  Guns will be shipped to a Federal Firearms License holder (FFL) in the buyer’s area where the buyer will receive it (FFL transfer). The buyer will be required to provide information that identifies them personally to that receiving FFL and successfully pass a federally mandated FBI background check before he/she can take possession of the firearm.

How can I find an FFL in my area?

Typically your local pawn shop, gun dealer, or shooting range will have an FFL on staff and can/will accept the gun transfer.  If you don’t know of an FFL in your area, please call us and we will assist in finding one and connect you to them.

How does the gun transfer take place?

Once you make contact with a local FFL you need to find out the following:

  • Will they accept a firearms transfer?
  • How much do they charge for a transfer?
  • What are their hours of operation?
  • Are there any particular days & hours that they don’t process transfers?
  • What is their address, phone number, and fax number? (email too if they have one)

This FFL transfer transaction is strictly between you and the FFL accepting the transferred firearm. Most licensed gun sellers we’ve transferred guns to were very professional business owners and easy to work with. Typically the FFL transfer fees are around $25 to $35 per transaction (up to 5 firearms), but they can vary greatly. You are responsible for the fee – ask ahead of time.

Once the FFL you’ve selected has sent us a copy of their license and it’s verified to be in good standing with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE/aka ATF) we will ship your order to that FFL. We will notify you when the shipper (UPS, FedEx, etc.) confirms the FFL has taken delivery. At that time you will need to make contact with the FFL and arrange the pick-up.

Can someone other than me receive my firearm at the FFL I’ve selected?

NO!

With every gun or guns we ship we send a STOP FRAUD AND STRAW PURCHASES form with it. That form clearly identifies the person who ordered the gun(s) from us and who should be receiving that/those gun(s).

If the person attempting to take possession of the firearm is someone different we ask that the transfer be stopped immediately and the gun returned. There is a restocking fee for returns under these conditions—see the Terms and Conditions of Use for details.

Can I return a firearm?

Once the firearm has been transferred to you it is considered your property and for safety reasons we cannot accept any returns. Please inspect the firearm ahead of the background check – make sure it’s the make, caliber, configuration, color and condition you expected. If it’s not call us BEFORE the transfer has taken place. Restocking fees may apply under certain return conditions – please check the Terms and Conditions of Use for details.

What if the FFL tells me my background check is DELAYED?

Once the firearm has been transferred to you it is considered your property and for safety reasons we cannot accept any returns. Please inspect the firearm ahead of the background check – make sure it’s the make, caliber, configuration, color and condition you expected. If it’s not call us BEFORE the transfer has taken place. Restocking fees may apply under certain return conditions – please check the Terms and Conditions of Use for details.

What if I don’t pass the FBI background check?

If a customer’s background examination is DENIED the FFL is prohibited from transferring the firearm. In those instances we will request the immediate return of the firearm. Restocking fees apply in these instances. Please see the Term and Conditions of Use for details.
